BOCCATA RESTAURANT Novotel Melbourne Airport. Saturday 16th August 2025. Dinner tonight was a big surprise it was very good. As I explain you will understand. I’m at the Melbourne Airport at the Novotel. I went to BOCCATA RESTAURANT. Expecting the usual bland salty food. I read the menu. “Interesting “. * So entree - Deep Fried Lasagna. Yes lasagna fried. I had to try it. It arrived nice square crumb morsels. Bit of creamy tomato sauce. Okay I’m intrigued fried lasagna. Well now wow there you go it’s a thing. It’s very good it’s lasagna crunch. So the outside is the pasta the inside is the meat sauce then add the tomato cream sauce. I think it’s very clever. I’d come back for it. * Main - Mushroom truffle Gnocchi. Wow now we are having a good time. Light clouds of puff gnocchi with a very good sauce of mushrooms with truffle. I really liked it. * Add to that the service and people were really good. I chatted to the chef the maître d & waiters. Just good old fashioned interaction. I don’t believe I found a good restaurant anywhere near the airport. But I did. I recommended BOCCATA RESTAURANT

We were very impressed with this hidden gem. I wish this restaurant was closer to us, we would be there every weekend. Or just about… So impressed by the level of service we received from all the staff at the restaurant. They ensured our experience was one that you would expect at a fine dinning restaurant in the city. The food was fantastic and so was the presentation. Cant wait to go back. Thank you for a lovely experience.

You enter through the Novotel entrance its not actually in terminal 4. Sometimes they open up 2 sides so you can go through the bar area or the other side where the concierge is. Its table service which is really nice. All the food here is wonderful. Will pop in anytime I have a flight now.

I’ll admit that this five star review may be a little generous, but this is an airport hotel! I was a little concerned when I first saw the menu, as it’s so limited, but my fears soon abated when the kids fish and chips came out (first, which is always welcome). The chips were perfectly cooked and it was a proper piece of fish. Then the grown up food came out and it was all excellent. Coupled with the nice decor (the hotel being brand new and tastefully designed really helps) and the exceptional service (particularly good was how they treated our son. They even brought an activity book for him), it’s hard to fault. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow morning now!
